Can you serve only appetizers and drinks at your event? Is that more cost effective?

When planning your event, appetizers are not more cost effective than serving a full meal. Even though appetizers use less food, they require more labor to produce and serve. It is also a bigger challenge for an appetizer only party as it becomes difficult to follow a timeline.
