Do you really save money with an event in your backyard or park?
Situation
Mary and John thought they could save money by having their event in their backyard or even a city park or beach. They wouldn’t be held accountable to venue minimums, menus and rules.
Solution
SO…
Do your homework—Just because you are having 200 guests, does NOT mean that you provide for 200—You must always have extra everything in the case additional guests show up or if something gets damaged or dirty.
What they were unaware of, everything that is provided at these venues (tables, chairs, linens, dishes, silverware, glassware, dancefloors, air conditioning, restrooms….even electricity and lighting) needs to be provided by those hosting the party.
Permits and security deposits are also required at public parks and beaches. They also have time restraints and often need to end by 10:00 pm. Parking can also be a challenge in public areas.
Be aware of the work involved to acquire what you need, confirm it and make sure that it arrives in an acceptable manner. Designate someone (or use your event designer) to be there to check on everything for your event.
